In preparation for the exam, the Division of Education conducted quality assurance checks at test centers to ensure a smooth process.

A total number of 2285 Grade Six primary school students will write the Common Entrance Examination today, June 13.

Registrar of Examinations, Carmelita Matthew, said in preparation for the exam the Division of Education conducted quality assurance checks at test centers to ensure the administration of the exam goes smoothly, while the Educational Evaluation and Assessment Unit held meetings with the principals and administrators of the centres.

“We sent, in advance, the required materials that correspond with the number of candidates each institution will be accommodating,” she added, “while the examination papers were prepared, to distributed on the day of exams.”

Ms. Matthew advised that children taking the exam should be equipped with all necessities, as parents will not be allowed at the test centers between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m.

“Parents should encourage their children to be calm, and on the day of the exam ensure that they have the needed stationary supplies and a proper lunch, because they will not be able to engage with their children during the break and lunch periods. They will be off the school compound on that day.”

The registrar also issued a reminder that mobile phones are not allowed in the examination room.
