Today is the last day to receive a 15 percent discount on purchases of tickets for the 2016 Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.
Patrons are urged to take advantage of an opportunity for guaranteed discounts for the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.
Available exclusively online, festival attendees can purchase tickets for main stage performances which run from Thursday, May 6 to Sunday, May 8, at up to 15 percent off advertised prices.
The shows include the May 6 Jazz Showcase which this year features 12-year old child protégé, pianist Joey Alexander; Donald Harrison and Brian Lynch at the National Cultural Centre, as well as the Pigeon Island main stage performances (May 6 - 8) featuring performers like Omi, Teddyson John, Shaggy, Norman Brown, Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, Irvin ‘ACE’ Loctar, Kassav, Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson, George Benson, Air Supply, Kool and the Gang and Festival headliner Marc Anthony.
Thursday’s show is priced at US$46/EC$115; Friday's at US$52/EC$130; and the Saturday and Sunday shows at US$80/EC$200 per day before discounts.
A 10 percent bulk discount will apply to purchases of 20 or more tickets purchased both online and at outlets on island from April 1.
The ten-day festival boasts a plethora of musical performances and art showcases throughout the island. With continued emphasis on the arts component, the festival will pay tribute to Sir Derek Walcott – one of Saint Lucia’s two Nobel Laureates –through the staging of his play, Omeros, produced by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London.
In addition, an Arts Village with a dedicated site in the north of the island will feature literary, visual and performing arts, while the acclaimed fashion show, Hot Couture, will return with a spotlight on Saint Lucia and the region’s cutting edge style.
The annual Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival begins April 29.
