Members of Parliament suggest a process of thorough discussion and debate before institution.

The House of Assembly continued its discussion on the report of the Constitutional Reform Commission on Tuesday.

Member of Parliament for Castries Central, Hon. Richard Frederick, proposed a parliamentary sub-committee be formed to review the recommendations.

"A parliamentary sub-committee [can] be instituted to go through the recommendations one by one with a view of accepting, rejecting and amending those that are accepted. That is my recommendation for the way forward."

Member of Parliament for Castries North, Hon. Stephenson King, said the process to reform will not be immediate.

"Constitutional reform or constitutional review is a very long journey that should allow for debate, discussion, consultation, and the exchange of views in and outside of parliament, to allow people to vent on exactly they want."
